Depression can leave us with a feeling of sadness that you find hard to shake. We may find a lack of motivation and a feeling of resignation. We have feelings of guilt and struggle with a low self esteem. A low self esteem may mean we find it hard to speak to people about our feelings as we may not feel worthy or have a fear of being judged and so it can create a vicious circle.
